Our environmental seals of approval

It is important to protect our environment because Mama Earth needs us. Not because one collects seals for it. And yet we are pleased that some of the most important environmental seals of approval can be seen on our products. Why? Because this means that we might have done something right in contributing, at least a little, to a more sustainable future.

Here is a brief overview of our eco-labels.

Blauer Engel Das Umweltzeichen

Blauer Engel

The “Blauer Engel”, the “Blue Angel” is the ecolabel of the federal government of Germany and was established in 1978. The Blue Angel sets very high standards for environmentally friendly product design and has proven itself over the past decades as a reliable guide for a more sustainable consumption.

Recycled paper made from 100% waste paper is the most famous Blue Angel product.

FSZ

FSC

FSC stands for ”Forest Stewardship Council“. The FSC system allows businesses and consumers to identify, purchase and use wood, paper and other forest products made with materials from well-managed forests and/or recycled sources.

The ”Forest Stewardship Council“ is an international non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting responsible forestry. FSC certifies forests all over the world to ensure they meet the highest environmental and social standards.

A selection of our covers as well as our paper made from fruit residuals carry this environmental seal of approval.

Climate Partner

ClimatePartner

This label guarantees the climate neutrality of the labeled product – or service. Indeed, the “ClimatePartner” label means that the carbon emissions inevitably generated in the value chain have been calculated, emissions reduced where possible and the unavoidable offset via recognized carbon offset projects.

This means sharpening companies’ awareness for the need of climate protection and allowing consumers to easily take climate action with everyday purchasing decisions.

By labelling environmentally friendly products and services the main goal of The Austrian Ecolabel is to draw the public's attention to the environmentally harmful production and disposal of many consumer goods.

Since 1990, the Austrian Ecolabel has been awarded to products and services that are more environmentally friendly than competitive products.

Nordic Swan

The Nordic Swan is the official ecolabel of the Nordic countries.

The Nordic Swan Ecolabel follows the ISO 14024 standard and is a Type 1 ecolabel. Conducted by a third party, it evaluates a product's impact on the environment compared to competitive products considering the entire life cycle, in order to guarantee, among others, that climate requirements are taken into account, and that carbon emissions are limited.

Global Recycled Standart

Global Recycled Standard

The Global Recycle Standard (GRS) was developed in 2008 as an international, voluntary, full product standard for tracking and verifying the content of recycled materials in a final product. The standard applies to the full supply chain and addresses traceability, environmental principles, social requirements, chemical content and labeling. GRS covers processing, manufacturing, packaging, labeling, trading and distribution of all products made with a minimum of 20% recycled material.

The standard supports companies looking to verify the recycled content of their products as well as responsible social, environmental and chemical practices in the production of these products.

PEFC

PEFC

PEFC, „The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes“ is an international non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting Sustainable Forest Management. With the PEFC seal of approval, companies set an example for the forests of the future. The PEFC certificate guarantees that wood as a raw material comes from sustainably managed forests only.

It proves that high ecological and social standards are met in the use of forests. This also guarantees and eliminates, of course, an origin of wood from illegal sources and overexploitation.
